Health Equity Movement
Health Equity Acceleration Partnership (HEAP) is a global nonprofit nongovernmental organization (NGO) and U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity that works with communities, governments, and coalitions to strengthen resource-limited health systems. We leverage digital health as a tool to close equity gaps and improve health outcomes.
Vision
A world where every individual, regardless of geography or circumstance, has equitable access to quality health services, digital tools, and opportunities to live a healthy, empowered life.
Mission
To advance global health equity by building local capacity, delivering culturally relevant training, and partnering with communities to implement sustainable, technology-enabled health solutions.
Our Programs
Digital Health Literacy
Our digital health literacy program aims to increase digital health effectiveness in rural African settings by partnering with local health care workers to build capacity, increase data quality, and improve workflows. We lead community-engaged research on digital health literacy of health care workers as a determinant of health outcomes in resource limited settings. This work enables digital health training as an intervention and supplies metrics to guide intervention effectiveness.
